TMJ – TMD

TMJ (Temporomandibular joint) is the joint connecting your lower jawbone to the base of your skull. The TMJ one of our most frequently used joints, it allows us to form words and chew food, and open our mouths for breathing.

Because the TMJ is complex and used almost continuously it is easily inflamed. An inflamed TMJ is called TMD (Temporomandibular joint dysfunction.) This inflammation can result in headaches, chronic facial pain, chronic jaw pain or earaches.

Dr. Erramouspe has treated TMJ patients his whole career and uses multiple approaches, depending on the type of TMJ.
